Position: Leverhulme Early Career Fellow

Main activities and responsibilities: The main role is to lead original research in the Early Career Fellowship project on “nature-based solutions to mitigate multi-hazard risks in coastal megacities”, focusing on four selected case study coastal megacities from Europe, South Asia and West Africa.
Other responsibilities include:
Actively engage and maintain an up-to-date awareness of relevant background and advances in the state-of-the-art literature in the research field.
Write up high-quality scientific reports/research papers for publication in high impact peer reviewed international journals and conference proceedings.
Preparation and delivery of presentations at internal seminars and hold regular meetings with supervisor to report research progress.
Engage with and actively participate in Centre for Flood Risk and Resilience (CFR2) and Flood, Coastal and Water Engineering (FCWE) research and teaching activities within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Any other relevant duties, commensurate with the grade of the post.

Main activities and responsibilities: To lead high-quality research within the MEDiate project, particularly concerning the assessment of multiple natural hazards and associated risks; to pursue and establish an independent and high quality research programme, including securing research contracts and funding; to disseminate research results via publications in peer reviewed journals. In addition, where appropriate, to manage a research team (students); to engage as appropriate in relevant teaching, professional and knowledge exchange activities; and to carry out administrative tasks assigned by the Head of Department/School.
